Terlintas seketika saja ingin berkata-kata sedikit tentang suatu lagu yang awalnya melekat di telinga saya ketika band teman-teman saya, Brother Beer , manggung membawakan lagu ini. Kalau tidak salah, waktu itu di suatu cafe di bilangan Timoho, Yogyakarta. 

Lagu ini sebenarnya sudah dirilis sejak 7 tahun yang lalu, ya, tahun 2004, tapi jujur saya baru sangat menikmatinya beberapa bulan terakhir. Bagi saya lagu ini amat menggugah kesehatan pendengaran para pecinta rock sejati.

Band asal Skotlandia ini merilis album selftitlednya pada tahun yang sama, dan lagu Take Me Out yang menjadi hits ini menegaskan bahwa rhythm berkarakter santai namun konsisten dapat merasuk ke otak melalui irama gitar yang tercipta setelah satu bait 'prolog'. Irama lagu ini pun tak ayal menjadi ode fenomenal bagi para fans Franz Ferdinand. Keberhasilan Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, dan Nick McCarthy dalam menciptakan distorsi bersih pun didukung penjagaan tempo yang maksimal dari sang penggebuk drum Paul Thomson.
